Physical Science is a combination of basic chemistry and physics concepts. During the year, we break the year down into the chemistry half or first semester and the physics half or second semester. We will study a variety of topics this year including atomic structure, molecular structure, chemical reactions and understanding the periodic table. In the second semester, we will study forces such as gravity, magnetism and electricity. Our emphasis in class will be to develop critical thinking skills that focus around the topics of physical science. Students will work on being able to verbalize what they know through various writing assignments. It is my hope to also teach students how to become more engaged in class which will help them in being more successful in science. Physical Science includes a variety of projects throughout the year. Students are given rubrics and directions to help them complete these assignments. Please help your student by asking to see the rubric so they understand the requirements of each project. The Egg Machine Project is Due November 29th. Please bring them before school that day and have them taken home by Friday or right after you show the machine. Thank you!
