Basic Math class is set up to help those students struggling with basic math skills who are served under an IEP. The Basic Math Curriculum tests the students and places them at an appropriate level to fill the gaps missing from their math instructions. Knowing basic facts (multiplication and division) is very important to being able to do math successfully. Each student will work at their own level that is determined by their placement test at the beginning of the year. The students will continue to be evaluated throughout the year to determine their placement for the following school year. The goal of this class is the get the student's skills up to par to be able to be successful at the pre-algebra level and then continue on. Common weak areas include mulitplicatin facts, divison, fractions, and variable equations.
