Mr. Kenneth J. Poepping (K.J.)

For the most part, I was raised in Helena, Montana.  Graduated from Helena Capital High School in 1987 (Go Bruins!).  After high school, I attended Montana State University-Bozeman.  After earning a B.A. in Education (English-teaching option), I accepted a 7-12 teaching/coaching job in Opheim, Montana.  While in Opheim, I met some of the most fantastic people one could hope to meet and had five of the best years of my life.  However, life did continue, and it was time to get married and move to Billings.  My wife, Amanda, and I were married in 1998.  That fall, I started teaching/coaching in Bridger, Montana.  Again, fantastic people and experiences came to the front of the line.  While teaching 9-12 English, I started to attend the University of Montana-Missoula to earn my Masters in Education.  After finishing that up in 2002, I became the K-8 Principal in Bridger for two years.  A wonderful staff and wonderful students.  But it was time to move on to a 'bigger challenge'.  I became Shepherd High School Principal in 2004 and have been here since.  I have certainly enjoyed my time here.

As was said earlier, my wife's name is Amanda.  We have two children--Treyton and Alexis.  They are both older now.  Treyton graduated from Montana Tech and has just moved to Texas.  Alexis is currently attending school at MSU-B.  We are very proud of both of them.
