Dear Parents and students,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
I am very excited to get to meet and see you in the library this year! I look forward to hearing all about your summer adventures! I hope I can take away some of your anxieties about the first day of school by letting you know a little bit about myself and the approaching school year.
My name is Jami Kale. I am beginning my 24th year as a teacher and I am ecstatic to be teaching K-5 Library/Media at Shepherd Elementary! I have been married to my wonderful husband, Chad Kale, for 21 years. We are blessed to have two children, Lyndsey and Caden. Lyndsey is eighteen-years-old and is off to college this year to play volleyball at Miles City Community College. Go Pioneers! Caden is thirteen-years-old and is growing like a weed. He is officially a teenager! My family is my biggest blessing and I love all the adventures we have together!
As far as school, parents, please allow ample time for your child to transition into school. Getting back into a routine before school starts is always very helpful for success. The days can be early, hot, and long in the first few weeks of school. I will do my best to make this transition smooth and comfortable.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and your child at Open House on Tuesday, August 30th. This will give you and your son/daughter an opportunity to meet me, become familiar with our school, and our library. I am excited to announce the first day of school is on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
If there is anything throughout the school year that may concern you or bring about a question, please feel free to call or email to set up a time we can meet. My door is always open and I would love to hear from you. If your child is having difficulties or is just having a hard day, please let me know. I am a parent too, and I know that a little extra attention can go a long way. Be assured, I will do my very best to make your child’s library/media experience educational, yet most of all, enjoyable!
Keep an eye out for any upcoming events, general links, Shepherd PTO, menus, newsletter/board reports, and school calendar on the Shepherd School website:

Please know your child is very important and special to me. If you have any questions or concerns, please get a hold of me right away so we can work together to problem solve any concerns!
I am very blessed to have the opportunity to teach your child!
I can’t wait to meet you and begin having fun learning together!
Students, play hard and I will see you soon!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Kale
